    Murder trial set for February

    A visibly slimmer Joseph Earl Luther, who was indicted on two counts of first degree murder while armed for the July 17, 2020, shooting deaths of his estranged wife, Heather Mae Luther, and her friend and co-worker, Kirk Jansky, made a rare in-person court appearance last week. His state-appointed attorney, Baya Harrison, asked that the case be re-scheduled from a January trial-date to next month’s calendar. The motion was granted and Luther is set to face a jury during the Feb. 20-24 trial term.
