Big Bend Water receives $1 million for ‘Septic to Sewer’

The Big Bend Water Authority (BBWA), which provides water and sewer service to both Steinhatchee in Taylor County and Jena in Dixie County, has received a $1 million state grant to help plug a funding gap in a “septic to sewer” project that will convert roughly 140 customers from septic tanks to the local sewer system.
