    Priscilla Ruth Knapp

    Posted on April 28, 2023

Priscilla Ruth Knapp, an indomitable spirit and breaker of molds, Special Olympics athlete and avid country music fan, took her last breath in this world and first in heaven on April 24, 2023. She was 38. She is survived by: her father, Tom; mother, Jeane; three sisters, Rebekah (Glenn) Zienty, Elizabeth (Jeremy) Neal and Sarah (Joe) Weirick; her two brothers, Tom (Selene Nieh) Knapp Jr. and Tim Knapp; six nephews, David, Jonathan, Amos, Matthew, Benjamin and Nathaniel; and four nieces, Kyleigh, Jordan, Rachel and Abigail. In her life she broke almost every limitation that was ever put on her. Her parents were told when she was born (on Feb. 14, 1985), she would never walk…she was running before she was walking. They were told she would never be able to read or write, but one of her favorite things to do was to read her Bible, underlining many passages. Priscilla attended church faithfully at Faith Baptist Church in Sterling, Ill. Whenever she heard someone was having a rough day, she would often come to you and say, “I have a verse for you.” She would then page through her well-used Bible until she found what she was looking for and then she would proceed to read the passage out loud, and I have to say it was always what you needed to hear. She would also often ask someone, “Can I pray for you?” If the person said yes, she would right away pray for the person right then and there. She loved communicating often with many missionaries all over the world though personal messages. While watching television in the evenings, she would see commercials for charities, and she would say she wanted to send them a contribution. When she would see a need at church, she would say to our dad, “I want to help with that,” so she donated money to various projects. In life she was very energetic and outgoing. She never met a stranger she didn’t greet. She will be missed greatly by all. We will miss her and mourn her passing, but we draw comfort in knowing she is finally free of her pain and suffering, and she is home in the arms of her Lord and Savior. (Psalm 4:8) Arrangements are under the care of McDonald Funeral Home in Sterling, Ill. In lieu of flowers, as per Priscilla’s desires, contributions may be made to a memorial fund.
