“Dallas Buyers Club” stars Matthew McConaughey (“The Lincoln Lawyer”) in a transformative leading role as the real life Ron Woodroof, a man determined to extend his life as long as possible in the face of a deadly disease.
This is a movie based on true events and people so outlandish and unbelievable they could only be real. It is a fascinating story about determination and survival with larger-than-life characters deftly brought to the screen by a wonderful cast, two of whom have to be considered near locks for Academy Award nominations next January.
This is not a film for everyone, but for those looking for an interesting story, great acting and a chance to see a part of our near history not many are familiar with, this could be for you.
The film is rated R for pervasive language, some strong sexual content, nudity and drug use.
