    Dyal makes argument for keeping tax levy

    In 2010, Taylor County voters narrowly approved a measure which allowed the Taylor County School District to levy a 0.25 mill critical needs property tax to cover certain costs, namely returning physical education and music classes to lower grades and helping fund student transportation.

    With the levy set to expire following the 2014-15 school year, Superintendent Paul Dyal is recommending the school board place the issue back on the 2014 election ballot to renew the levy for an additional four years to help cover an expected jump in technology costs resulting from new state mandates.
