Candlelight vigil is planned Oct. 18 in front of post office

In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a candlelight vigil will be held at dusk on Wednesday, Oct. 18, in front of the post office on Jefferson Street to honor and remember local victims of domestic violence.

“Everyone knows someone that has been a victim and survived, is currently a victim of domestic violence or who have had their lives taken by the hands of their abuser,” said organizer Leslie Dean.

“We are inviting everyone to join us and line the sidewalk on Jefferson Street in front of the post office for domestic violence awareness as we hold a candlelight vigil on Wednesday at dusk on the sidewalk to remember our loved ones whose lives have been impacted by incidents of domestic violence,” she added.
