The Perry Garden Club will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs with a tree-planting ceremony planned in conjunction with its January meeting slated next Wednesday, Jan. 17.
Refreshments will be served at 10:30 a.m., followed by the tree-planting at 11 a.m.
“Our Club will plant a fringe tree (chionanthus virginicus) on our grounds,” Garden Club Co-President Joanna Albritton said.
Several local dignitaries have been invited to be a part of the ceremony, and all members are encouraged to attend and bring a friend.
Following the tree-planting, Turkey Roost Nursery’s Diane Whitfield and her daughter, Sarah, will present a program on growing blueberries.
The Garden Club is located in Forest Capital Park, off Industrial Park Drive.
