    Posted on February 14, 2024

The Taylor County Commission proclaimed this week “Steinhatchee Fiddler Crab Festival Week” in recognition of this weekend’s event, which is expected to draw thousands of people to the coastal community for live music, vendors, food, fiddler crab races and much more. Shown above at the commission’s Feb. 5 meeting are: (from l to r) Commissioner Jim Moody, Commission Chair Jamie English, festival volunteer and co-founder Pam Wessels Roe, Commissioner Michael Newman, festival volunteer/co-founder Patty Zurbrick, Commissioner Thomas Demps and Commissioner Pam Feagle.

With thousands of people expected to fill Steinhatchee this weekend for the 16th annual Fiddler Crab Festival, the Taylor County Commission recognized both the volunteers behind the festival and its economic impact on the community by declaring Feb. 12-18 “Steinhatchee Fiddler Crab Festival Week.”
