Tree giveaway set for March 2

The Perry Garden Club has announced a second tree giveaway event planned Saturday, March 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its club house located in the Forest Capital Park complex.

The Florida Forest Service has donated 1,000 slash pine and 900 bald cypress tree seedlings to be given away.

The group will also have 500 additional seedlings — including Hoptree, Green Ash, Loblolly Pine, Sycamore and Smooth Adler — to distribute, courtesy of the National Wildlife Federation and the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs.

Taylor County Master Garden volunteers will be on hand to assist Garden Club members at the tree giveaway.
