    FDOT removing debris on private roads

    Crews contracted by Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) removed hundreds of thousands of cubic yards of Hurricane Idalia debris from public roadways in Taylor County over the course of several months, depositing the material in several locations, including the one shown above off Beach Road. Work to remove hurricane debris from along non-county-maintained roadways began this week, also coordinated by FDOT.

    Almost six months after Hurricane Idalia devastated Taylor County — and three months after state contractors completed debris clean-up along the county’s public roadways – work is finally underway to clear debris from along non-county-maintained roads.
