    County approves exception for RV electrical hookups

    Interim Taylor County Building Official Bobby Johnson addresses the Taylor County Commission at its meeting Monday evening, discussing local and state regulations concerning electrical connections on properties located in flood zones. After a nearly-two-hour debate, the commission approved a recommendation put forth by Johnson to allow those wishing to install 100-amp systems or less to do so below base flood elevation.

    The Taylor County Commission has agreed to provide an exception allowing those with properties located within the county’s flood zones to install their electrical service below the base flood elevation (BFE) — as long as that service is 100 amps or less.
