Event sponsors needed for 2-day veteran event

VFW Post 9225 is seeking sponsors for a special two-day “Salute to Veterans” event planned Friday, Sept. 6, and Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Taylor Senior Citizens Center.

“This is an amazing opportunity for our community to show their respect and appreciation for our veterans and their families for the sacrifices they made. These men and women answered our nation’s call spending time away from their families and missing important events with their family, birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and even the birth of their children and or a family tragedy,” Post Commander Mike Thrift said.

“We are seeking sponsors for the following services: dental, medical, mental health, health and wellness, assistance with VA claims, cell phone education, free raffles, haircuts, financial counseling and suicide awareness, because 22 a day is 22 a day too many.

“We are asking for monetary donations, bottled water, refreshments, lunch, ink pens, carabineers, hand sanitizer, stress balls, pocket bibles, calendars, koozies, eye glass cleaning cloths, goodie bags, t-shirts and items for free raffles. Anything else you want to donate is appreciated,” Thrift said.
