    Donnie Lee Blanton

    Donnie Lee Blanton, beloved brother, father and friend, passed away on Sept. 17, 2024.

    He was a hardworking man, dedicating his life to his job as a wood prep worker at the Pulpwood Mill for Procter & Gamble.

    He enjoyed working outdoors on the family farm, growing tobacco and rearing hogs, all the while working full-time for the mill.

    Donnie was born on Aug. 9, 1940, in Taylor County to Earl and Minnie Blanton, and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his family.

    In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing.

    He is survived by: his loving daughter, Cindy Wainright; his son, Jason Blanton and his wife, Cindy; his brothers, Dennis Blanton and Rufus Blanton and his wife, Gail; three grandchildren, Summer Ratliff, Savannah (Mark) Micolucci and Stuart Williams; one great-granddaughter, Emilia Micolucci; and a host of nieces and nephews.

    Donnie will be remembered for his kindness, his humor and his unwavering commitment to those he loved.

    A funeral service in honor of Donnie was held at the Joe P. Burns Funeral Home in Perry on Sept. 21, at 4 p.m.

    His remains were laid to rest at Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

    Donnie’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and he will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of calling him a friend or family member. May he rest in peace.

    Donnie was preceded in death by: his wife of 52 years, Linda Beth Blanton; parents, Earl and Minnie Blanton; and brother, Cecil Blanton.
