The Friends of the Taylor County Library’s 19th annual Short Story Contest is accepting entries.
The deadline to submit a story this year is April 4 at 5:30 p.m. The entry fee is $5 per story. Full rules and guidelines are available at the library, which is located at 403 N. Washington St. in Perry.
The contest has three ages categories: youth (grade 5 and below), student (grades 6-12) and adult. Cash prizes ($100 for first place, $50 for second place and $10 for honorable mention) will be presented to the winning authors in each category.
The winning stories and authors will be announced on Friday, May 23.
