Judge, constitutional officers begin new terms

Taylor County Judge Bill Blue and Taylor County’s five constitutional officers – Sheriff Wayne Padgett, Supervisor of Elections Dana Southerland, Tax Collector Mark Wiggins, Property Appraiser Shawna Beach and Clerk of Court Gary Knowles – were all officially sworn in during a ceremony on Friday, Jan. 3 at the elections office on Hwy. 19. All six were re-elected to office in 2024 and officially began their new terms on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
