Developer wishes to buy West Fraser mill property

    Posted on January 17, 2025

John Sherrill of Sherrill Coastal Holdings has a track record of buying shuttered industrial properties, repurposing them and selling them to companies that would bring back lost employment to the community. Sherrill, the former owner of Fishermen’s Market, Gulf Coast Supply, Quicken Manufacturing and Quicken Steel, was involved in resurrecting the former GP mill that is now Cross City Lumber.

The owner of a company specializing in buying, repurposing and selling industrial properties is interested in purchasing the West Fraser Perry sawmill site, but is requesting relief from an estimated $500,000 in local taxes before closing on the deal.
