On Monday, Jan. 27, the Friends of the Taylor County Public Library will present a program featuring award-winning Southern fiction author Rhett DeVane.
DeVane is originally from Chattahoochee, but now lives in Tallahassee. She is the author of seven published mainstream fiction novels, short stories, flash fiction, middle grade chapter books and poetry.
Her short fiction pieces have appeared in five anthologies, and she has won numerous awards for her fiction from the Tallahassee Writers Association, Florida Authors and Publishers Association, and the Florida Writers Association.
DeVane was originally scheduled to speak about her books at the Friends of the Taylor County Public Library program last September, but due to the approaching hurricane and evacuation, she had to cancel that event.
“She may be from Chattahoochee, but she was not crazy enough to come to Perry when everybody was being instructed to evacuate,” Friends volunteers said.
The Jan. 27 program is free and open to the public. A door prize will be given away.
The program will be at the Taylor County Public Library, located at 403 N. Washington Street, from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
It will also be livestreamed on the group’s Facebook page.
