Commission tackling budget early

Facing a projected loss of millions of dollars in property tax revenues due to the closure of Georgia-Pacific’s Foley Cellulose mill and West Fraser’s Perry sawmill, as well as the destruction or significant damage to more than 350 homes by Hurricane Helene, Taylor County commissioners are set to hold the first of what is expected to be a series of early budget workshops next week.
