The Florida Department of Health in Taylor County has announced a community walking challenge, “Step Up, Taylor County!” with a goal of participants reaching 10 millions steps during the month of April.
“Join us for the community-wide step challenge! In the month of April, let’s get moving together and see how many steps we can take as a community. Whether you walk, jog or run – every step counts,” Minority Health & Heart Health Plus Liaison Katrina Fillyaw said.
The challenge will launch Tuesday, April 1, and continue through Wednesday, April 30.
“You can take part in the challenge anywhere – walking in your neighborhood, at the park or on the treadmill,” Fillyaw said. “The goal is to track your steps and help Taylor County reach 10 million steps together.”
To be a participant in the challenge, join the “Step Up Taylor County” group on the StepUPapp.
Once you join the group, then track your steps with a fitness tracker or phone, share your program and photos using #StepUpTaylorCounty and help the health department reach the 10 million steps goal.
