    Donald Michael (Mike) Bowden

    Affectionately called Mikey

    It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the sad news that our beloved brother, Donald Michael “Mike” Bowden, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, at his home in Meridian, Miss., at the age of 67.

    Mike was born on Nov. 26, 1957, in Jacksonville to Robert (Bob) Haywood and Katherine Sammataro Bowden.

    He was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Jacksonville.

    He was a sergeant in the Army and served for eight years.

    Mike lived and worked in Jacksonville, Seattle, Wash., and California for many years as an electrical engineer.

    After retiring Mike moved to Meridian and remained there until his death.

    Mike was predeceased by his parents and brothers, William Lawrence (Billy) Bowden and Robert James Bowden, both of Perry.

    Mike is survived by: his son, William L. Bowden of Lynnwood, Wash.; three sisters, Camille Bowden (Lynn) Rawls of Tallahassee and Ann Bowden (Clayton) Huff and Nancy Ann Bowden, both of Perry; his closest friend of 41 years, Samuel Arrowood of Meridian; and Kathy Winstead Bowden, his ex-wife with whom he remained very close.

    Mike also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Services for Mike will be held on Saturday, April 5, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Matthew Bush officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m.

    Graveside services will be held at Pineview Cemetery in Perry.

    Pallbearers for the service are: Clay Huff, Nicholas Rawls, Jason Rawls, Kathryn Rawls, Cody Bowden and C.J. Bowden.
