    Macarthur Drawdy

    Posted on April 16, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Macarthur Drawdy, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, who left this world on April 12, 2025, at the age of 82.

He was born April 25, 1942, in Salem to Nancy Ida (Russell) Drawdy and George Washington Drawdy.

Mack touched the lives of many through his kindness, steadfast work ethic and generous spirit.

Mack was a master of his craft, known for his exceptional carpentry skills.

He devoted his time and talents to the community, helping to construct his local church, as well as many building projects locally and on the foreign mission field.

His passion for building extended beyond structures. Mack was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

An avid fisherman, Mack loved fishing with a cane pole on the creek bank, where he enjoyed catching catfish, stumpknockers and warmouth.

Yet, it was the time spent with his family and friends that truly brought him joy. He looked forward to every gathering, telling stories from his childhood growing up in Salem.

He adored his wife, children and grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

He was predeceased by: his parents; his brothers, Jack Drawdy, Homer Drawdy and Ben Drawdy; and his daughter, Selina C. Moore.

He is survived by: his wife of 54 years Lou (Tuten) Drawdy; his son, Seth and his wife, Sarah, and his son, Sam and his wife, Dana; his brothers, Tom (Bud) Drawdy, Bill Drawdy and Chan Drawdy; his grandchildren, Owen, Selina, Maddie, Anna and Sammi; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service in Mack’s honor will be held Thursday, April 17, at Salem Baptist Church at noon with pastors Steve Fox and Mark Pargo officiating. A public visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 11 a.m.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects as we gather to celebrate the remarkable life he led.

His legacy of love, generosity and dedication to family and community will forever remain in our hearts.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the missions fund of Salem Baptist Church at P.O. Box 167 Salem, Fl. 32356.
