Charles Alton Miller Jr., 75, of Perry went home to be with the Lord on April 18, 2025, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on Jan. 7, 1950, in Hartford City, Ind. Charles served in the U.S. Army where he did two tours in Vietnam on a helicopter as a crew chief/gunner. He also served one tour in Korea and three tours in Germany. He returned to Perry after 20 years of service, retiring as a sergeant major. Charles was a Baptist and a member of New Home Baptist Church. His hobbies included riding his Harley with members of the H.O.G. Association and the Christian Motorcycle Association and standing with the Patriot Guards. He enjoyed fishing and traveling with his wife, Diane. In 2001, Charles joined the First Fitness Family team where they made many new friends and traveled all over. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Miller Sr. and Margaret Page. He is survived by: his wife of 48 years, Diane H. Miller; his two sons, Leon (Sarah) Holden and Scott (Dorothy) Holden; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Wednesday, April 23, at 10 a.m. with Dustin Logan Officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, starting at 9 a.m. Charles’ final resting place will be in The National Cemetery in Tallahassee. Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at 1 p.m., following the morning service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund at New Home Baptist Church or your favorite charity.
