Hickory Mound ‘Earth Day Clean-Up’ set for April 26

The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will host an “Earth Day Clean-Up” event at the Hickory Mound Impoundment on Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. until 12 noon.

All members of the public who are interested in participating are encouraged to meet at the first boat ramp just past the informational sign on Cow Creek Grade at the southeast corner of the impoundment at 9 a.m.

Volunteers should enter from Cow Creek Grade, due to access from the west side of the area being limited due to hurricane damage.

Clean-up will be conducted on land and by water, as volunteers can participate on land or by boat and kayak.

Lunch (pizza), snacks, water, buckets and garbage bags will be provided, but participants should bring their own re-fillable beverage container, bug spray, boots and work gloves.
