Taylor County Master Gardener Volunteers will host their fourth “Garden Gala Days” on Saturday, June 14, at Forest Capital Hall, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This month’s focus will be pollinators, with Agriculture Extension Agent Lisa Strange presenting a workshop on pollinator plans and the “Great Southeast Pollinator Census” planned in August.
Master Gardeners will have zinnia plants for sale, as well as Suyo Long summer cucumbers, which are said to withstand the heat and humidity of a Florida summer.
There will also be a variety of other vegetables available, including okra, eggplant, peppers and super hot peppers.
Everyone who attends will receive a free packet of “Texas Cream” southern peas.
Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer all of your gardening questions, and will provide free plant clinics, soil sample bags and more.
Refreshments will include home-cooked BBQ plates (BBQ pork, Brunswick stew, slaw, chips, bread, sauce and a drink) for $8.50 each.
