Taylor County was one of two finalists for new business

According to Taylor County Development Authority Director Bob Cate, two weeks ago, a prospective new business narrowed its search to two locations — including the Gram’s Legacy site located in Perry off Hwy. 19. While the company ultimately chose the other competing county, Cate referred to the close call as one example of the TCDA’s continuing business recruitment efforts, adding the TCDA is currently pursuing 12 prospective industry projects to bring jobs and capital investment into the community to offset the loss of Georgia-Pacific’s Foley Cellulose mill and West Fraser’s sawmill.
Two weeks ago, Taylor County was one of two finalists for a prospective new business looking for a potential future site to locate their heavy industry facility in the region.
