Jonathan Thomas Sheffield

Mr. Jonathan Thomas Sheffield, 66, passed away on June 20, 2025. Thomas was born on Jan. 8, 1959, in Perry to James Floyd Sheffield and Mary Jane Sheffield. He was a Christian by faith and attended men’s prayer groups. Thomas loved the outdoors – gardening, hunting and, especially, fishing. He was a welder by trade who worked around the country and at Watkins in Taylor County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Jane and James Floyd Sheffield, and his stepson, Christopher Nesbitt. He is survived by: his son, Jonathan Floyd Sheffield; his four sisters, Charlene and her husband, Charles Davis, Kathleen and her husband, Louis Shaw, Maria Sheffield, and Alice and her husband ,Harvey Raulerson; one brother, James Robert “Bob” Sheffield and his wife, Vivian; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind many friends, notably his lifelong friend, Mark Taylor. A celebration of life will be held at a later date
