State Fire Marshal investigating Golf Course Road fire

The State Fire Marshal is investigating an early-morning fire on Saturday, June 28, that destroyed a home under construction on Golf Course Road. The homeowners, Enrique and Elizabeth Villagomez, were conducting renovations on the home themselves and did not have insurance, according to the couple’s daughter, Elizabeth Morgan. “There was no power or utilities connected to the building, and the State Fire Marshal is investigating,” Taylor County Fire-Rescue Chief Dan Cassel said.
