Samuel ‘Sam’ Hutcheson Jr.

Samuel “Sam” Hutcheson Jr., 72, died July 1, 2025.

He was born May 7, 1953.

Sam was preceded in death by: his father and mother, Samuel Hutcheson Sr. and Louise Varnedore; his sister, Jeanette; and brother, Keith.

He is survived by: his wife of 16 years, Sherell Collins Hutcheson; his sister, Nadavah McDonald; son, Samuel Hutcheson III and wife, Dawn; two stepdaughters, Jamie and Kelly; and a grandson, Bradley.

Sam drove a truck most of his life and his CB handle was “Rattlesnake” – he was quick to strike with a joke or a verbal jab.

An avid gun collector, Sam worked for the Perry Pawn Shop as a gunsmith after his retirement from trucking.

He was well-liked by everyone, and could sell a gun to even those who didn’t come in to buy one; we know he will be missed there.

No funeral services are planned at this time; a memorial service may be held at his home at a later date.
