Sheriff asks for $286,000 budget increase

After months of budget discussions, during which the Taylor County Commission asked each of the county’s five constitutional officers to reduce their budgets in light of impending tax revenue losses, Taylor County Sheriff Wayne Padgett submitted a proposed budget seeking a $286,000 increase to his $9.25 million budget.
