Donation of SNAP portable to B&G Club approved after move
Posted on July 25, 2025
Downtown traffic on Jefferson Street experienced a slight disruption last Thursday, as a large portable building was moved from Big Bend Technical College (BBTC) to the Boys and Girls Club on Washington Street. The portable will house the Special Needs Adult Program (SNAP) that is being relocated from the school district’s old Rock Building (formerly Perry Elementary) under an agreement that will see the B&G Club administer SNAP services through a third-party agreement with the school board.
The Taylor County School Board gave its blessing — retroactively – to donating a portable building to the Boys & Girls Club to house SNAP (Special Needs Adult Program), which the organization has agreed to take over as a third-party contractor for the school district.
