David Joseph “DT” Taylor, born on Jan. 25, 1985 in Jacksonville, was sent to his eternal home on Monday, July 28, 2025. He was 40 years old. He moved to Perry as a young teenager with his parents and this is where he resided from then on. DT, as he was called by most everyone who knew him, was a beacon of strength and courage. His short journey on this earth was one marked by his love of nature and love of family. He loved the outdoors from the time he was old enough to walk, and he spent most of his free time either hunting or slaying the reds out on the gulf. If you ever had the joy of fishing with David, you had a competition on your hands. David is survived by: his mother, Deborah (Clifford) Price; his brothers, Chris (Danyelle) Taylor and Clarence Joseph (Jennifer) Taylor Jr.; sister, Nadine Taylor; his precious daughters, Eva, Ayla and David Joseph ‘DT’ Taylor Hope; his wife, Jessica (Walker) Taylor; and four stepchildren, Taylor, Tran, Treyce and Taryn. David also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and coworkers who loved him dearly. His father, Clarence Joseph Taylor, preceded him in death. David had his work family of 20 years, who will miss his guidance, knowledge, strength and dedication. He leaves behind a legacy at Big Top Manufacturing – “The Legend” will never be forgotten. The family will receive friends for a visitation in his honor on Monday, Aug. 4, from 6-8 p.m., at Burns Funeral Home. Although David’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit and legacy will continue to inspire and uplift all knew him.
