Survival Flight Regional Director Charles Barnard told county commissioners Tuesday evening that although the company will have several traditional box truck ambulances, they will mostly use van-style ambulances — similar to this vehicle currently stationed at Doctors’ Memorial Hospital for interfacility transfers — when they take over as Taylor County’s 911 EMS provider in January.
When Survival Flight EMS takes over emergency medical services (EMS) in January, local residents will likely notice a difference in the new ambulances.
