Bobby Ray Boothe Jr.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Bobby Ray Boothe Jr. who was  was June 24, 1959, to Bobby Ray Boothe and Doris Jean Coker Boothe.

Ray passed away at his home in Greenville on Aug. 23, 2025.

He enjoyed boating, fishing, scalloping and, back in the day, water skiing.

He graduated from Aucilla Christian Academy in 1977.

Ray ran his father’s service station for many years and retired from the Florida Forest Service on Aug. 31, 2023, as a wildland firefighter. 

His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving a void in the lives he touched.

Ray was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Ray Boothe.

He is survived by: his wife of 46 years, Sharon Thalia Shea Boothe; daughter, Thalia Michelle Boothe Wetherington; granddaughter, Halie Elizabeth Wetherington; mother, Doris Jean Coker Boothe; and sister; Angelyn Jean Boothe Brandies.

The memory of Ray will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in eternal peace.

Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 28, at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville.

Graveside visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 9-10 a.m.
