    NOTICE OF REGULAR MEETINGS
    BIG BEND WATER AUTHORITY
    As required by Chapter 189, Florida Statutes, notice is being given that the Board of Directors (Board) of the Big Bend Water Authority (Authority) will hold its regular meetings for the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 at the Authority office, 1313 1st Avenue SE, Steinhatchee, Florida, at 5:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month, as follows:

A meeting, or any agenda item considered at a meeting, may be continued to a date and time certain to be announced at the meeting and noticed. This notice may be subject to change.
    Pursuant to provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act, any person requiring special accommodations to participate in an Authority meeting because of a disability or physical impairment should contact Laura Valentine at 352-498-3576 at least forty-eight (48) hours before the meeting. If you are hearing or speech impaired, please contact the Florida Relay Service at (800) 955-8770 for aid in contacting the Authority office at least two (2) days prior to the date of the meeting.
    If anyone chooses to appeal any decision of the Board with respect to any matter considered at a meeting, such person will need a record of the proceedings and should accordingly ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made that includes the testimony and evidence upon which such appeal is to be based.

    BIG BEND WATER AUTHORITY
    PUBLIC NOTICE
    Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery Program (CDBG-DR)
    The Big Bend Water Authority is seeking public input into a proposed water and sewer program. The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced that the State of Florida would receive funding for the Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program to support long-term resiliency and mitigation efforts following Hurricane Helene. The Florida Department of Commerce (Florida Commerce) is the governor-designated state authority responsible for administering these funds. The State of Florida has allocated $ 400 million for its Infrastructure Repair Program. Funds are able to be used in a wide range of activities related to disaster relief and mitigation of risk associated with such activities. Eligible mitigation activities include restoration or improvements of infrastructure damaged by Hurricane Helene, such as water and sewer facilities and repairs to water and sewer lines and systems. Examples of projects include:

    1. Replacement of broken water and wastewater pipelines
    2. Lift station repairs – permanent generators and bypass pumps
    3. Potable water system repairs or restoration
    4. Wastewater treatment plant repairs
      It is estimated the amount of the project will be approximately $5 million. The Big Bend Water Authority does not anticipate that anyone will be displaced because of the CDBG-DR funded activities proposed above. If a person is displaced as a result of the planned activities, the Big Bend Water Authority will assist them within the requirements of the grant.
      This public notice and comment period is being conducted pursuant to the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act to ensure accessibility to all. There will be a 10-day public comment period. Comments must be made by September 22, 2025. Comments will be accepted online and in writing.     The 2025 Value Adjustment Board (VAB) of Taylor County, Florida, will hold its’ Organizational Meeting, as required by Section 194.011, Florida Statutes, on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2025, at 5:30 P.M., (OCTOBER 2, 2025 at 5:30 P.M.- ALTERNATE DATE) in the County Commission Meeting Room of the Taylor County Administrative Building, Old Post Office Complex, 201 E.
