NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Taylor County Planning Board will hold a public meeting October 2, 2025, at 5:00 pm, or soon after as possible, at the Taylor County Administrative Complex located at 201 East Green Street, Perry, Florida 32347 to consider petitions for variance petition.
A variance petition V16-2025 by owner Luis Alfonso Bautista Pulido, 21239 Keaton Beach Drive, Perry Florida. He is asking for a 5’ variance on the South side of the property where his pole barn was erected by mistake. The lot is 62’ x 149’ in a Mixed-Use Urban development land use category. Section 35, Township 07, Range 07, parcel number 06993-500.
A variance petition V17-2025 by owner Elizabeth Harkala, 20630 Marina Drive, Perry, Florida, who lost her home due to Hurricane Helene. She would like to construct a new home on a similar, but not exactly the same, footprint. The new footprint will be smaller than her previous home. The plan would require her to request a variance of 10’ into the front setback and 8’ into the rear setback. The requested variance would not negatively impact the adjacent land owners. Section 35 Township 07 Range 07, parcel number 06851-000.
A variance petition V18-2025 by owner Ernest Higee, 454 Granger Road SE, Steinhatchee, Florida who had his home destroyed by Hurricane Helene. He would like to rebuild on the same footprint with the exception of adding 2 porches on each side. Adding the 2 porches would require him to encroach 6’ into the left side setback and 4’ into the rear/river side setback. Section 26, Township 09, Range 09, parcel number 09992-100.
A variance petition V19-2025 by owners Dutton and Ludie Porter, 105 Central Avenue, Steinhatchee, Florida who lost their home to Hurricane Helene. They would like to rebuild a larger home, as they have made plans to retire to Steinhatchee. The plan they have selected will better accommodate this decision. They are requesting a 1’-6” variance on each side for the home to be able to fit and a 10’ variance into the front setback to allow parking from the rear. This variance will not negatively impact any adjacent neighbors. Section 35, Township 07, Range 07, parcel number 06771-000.
Copies of associated documents are available for public inspection at the Planning Administration Complex, located at 201 East Green Street, Perry, Florida 32347.
