Friends group welcomes author Diane Swearingen as guest speaker Sept. 29

On Monday, Sept. 29, the Friends of the Taylor County Public Library welcome author Diane Swearingen as guest speaker.

She is the author of “The Smallest Tadpole’s War in The Land of Mysterious Waters,” a book of historical fiction which chronicles life in North Florida during the antebellum and the Civil War time.

It is a based on a true family story from a time when most of the white population of North Florida was relatively poor and rural.

The retired Tallahassee teacher and media specialist has also written “The Edge of the Devil’s Hammock,” a thriller fiction based on a family’s dark secrets.

The free program will be begin at 5:30 p.m. and a door prize will be awarded.

The program will also be livestreamed on the Friends of the Taylor County Public Library’s Facebook page.
