Steven Gregory “Greg” Holmes July 31, 1968 – October 11, 2025 Steven Gregory “Greg” Holmes, 57, passed away peacefully on Oct. 11, 2025, at his home in Dumaguete City, Philippines. Greg was born on July 31, 1968, to Jeanette Couey and Thomas Holmes in Tallahassee. He spent many of his early years building houses and took great pride in his craftsmanship – especially his skill in cabinetry. Later, he began a career as a correctional officer, where he served faithfully until an injury led to his retirement. Afterward, Greg embraced a new adventure and made his home in the Philippines. He is survived by: his devoted wife, Iche Duran Holmes; his beloved children, Jessica (Eddie) Gonzalez, Brittany Holmes and Michael, Kaitlyn Holmes, Akirah R.R. Duran and Patricia Duran Sanon; grandchildren, Jordyn Gonzalez, Breanna Tomlinson, Mya Gonzalez, Jazlynn Bailey, Adalyn Paul, Torryn Paul, and Eland Harris; his brother, Gary (Susan) Holmes; and sister, Anne Holmes (Terry McIntyre); along with many nieces, nephews and friends who were like family. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Jeanette Couey, Thomas Holmes, and stepfather, Harrell Couey. He will be remembered for his love of music, his amazing cooking skills and his one-of-a-kind personality. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Greg’s memory and the love he shared with so many.
