Sheriff appeals budget to governor

Taylor County Sheriff Wayne Padgett has filed a petition with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Florida Cabinet appealing his 2025-26 budget set by the Taylor County Commission, which reduced his year-to-year operations funding by $320,000 compared to 2024-25.
