Come downtown Oct. 31 for annual Halloween event

Come downtown Friday night for a howling good time!

The Perry-Taylor County Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Halloween Trunk or Treat this Friday, Oct. 31, from 6-8 p.m.

More than 40 trunks have registered for the free community event. Displays and candy giveaways will line Jefferson Street, from the chamber to the courthouse square and beyond.

The chamber will also hold a Costume Contest from 6-7:30 p.m. (judging ends at 7:30 p.m.) and awards – first through third place – will be presented in the following categories: Best Overall; Best Costume; Best Recycled Costume; Best Group; and Most Unique.

Entries for both the pumpkin carving contest and pumpkin painting contest will be accepted at the chamber Thursday, Nov. 30, and Friday, Nov. 31, during regular business hours. The deadline for entries is 5 p.m. on Friday.
