As a founding member of the Veterans Memorial Park Committee, A.L. Grubbs invested not only his time into the project, but his blood, sweat and – more than likely – a few tears too.
He worked alongside a team of volunteers who were the “boots on the ground” during the construction of the park – from breaking ground to running electrical wires and laying water pipes.
It was a true labor of love for the Air Force veteran, who loved God and country above all.
Coming full circle, on Tuesday, Nov. 11, Grubbs’ memorial flag will be raised over the park to fly high for the next six months.
