Velinda Parker Root

Velinda Parker Root, 80, of Shady Grove passed away on Aug. 28, 2025.

The daughter of Myrtice and Mose Parker of Perry, Velinda was born June 25, 1945.

She met her late husband, Bob, in 1969. They are now together again with the Lord.

Velinda is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (John) Allison and Cara (Brian) Hill, and three grandchildren, Owen, Lauren and Josh.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, at Lake Bird Methodist Church, beginning at noon.
