John William ‘JW’ Barclay

Mr. John William “JW” Barclay passed away in Tallahassee, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025. JW was born April 6, 1944, in Greenville to his parents, John Cranford Barclay and Flora Mae Lewis Barclay. He worked in the construction industry, doing carpentry and tile work, after retiring from Occidental Petroleum. He was a hard worker and loved working. He especially enjoyed yard work and working in his garden. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, Dec. 19, from 1-2 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home Chapel in Perry. A graveside service will follow at Pineview Memorial Cemetery, located at 1400 N. Johnson Stripling Road. He is survived by: his wife, Donna Rae Barclay; three daughters, Brenda Barclay, Lisa Barclay and Norma Barclay; his son, Joe Barclay; two stepsons, Jeffrey Karowich and Mark Karowich; three sisters, Dot Day, Sandy Grantham and Kathy Barclay; brother, Jessie Byrl Barclay; seven grandchildren, Scott, Tiffany, Sean Brittany, Taylor, Kasey and Jace; nine step-grandchildren, Jason, Tiffany, Michael, Emily, Kyle, Kip, Kate, Memie and Lara; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents, John C. and Flora Mae Barclay; a stepson, Michael Hartbarger; brother, Charley Barclay; and sister, Johnnie Silvers.
