Legislature eyes proposals to cut property taxes

The Florida House, laying the groundwork for the 2026 legislative session, has unveiled seven proposals to reduce or eliminate non-school district property taxes on homesteaded properties in the state, which would lower tax bills for many Taylor County residents, but could also cost local governments millions of dollars in revenue.
