Taylor County residents from Shady Grove to Steinhatchee were largely delighted by periods of snow flurries Saturday afternoon, but the historic dusting of white flakes soon gave way to sub-freezing temperatures that helped create a blanket of ice on trees and even sprinklers (above), as well as frozen pipes and broken water lines throughout the area, leaving many without water and putting a strain on the electrical grid.
