    County officials: ‘Bridge is safe’

    Damage and corrosion visible on columns supporting the Steinhatchee Bridge connecting Steinhatchee to Jena raised concerns voiced by local residents, but FDOT inspections indicate the bridge is safe, according to Taylor County officials.

    County officials are attempting to reassure the community that the Capt. Chad Allen Reed Sr. Memorial Bridge over the Steinhatchee River remains safe.
