Taylor County Master Gardeners have announced it will hold two Spring Garden Gala Days, with the first planned Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Forest Capital Park.
The event will feature tomato, eggplant and pepper plants all grown by Master Gardener Volunteers (MGVs).
Varieties will include:
• Tomato: Jolene, Celebrity Plus, Washington Cherry and Amish Paste.
• Peppers: Bell, Olympus; Poblano, Bastan; and Banana Pepper, Goddess and Lunchbox Pepper Mix.
• Eggplant: Italian slim purple, Dancer; Italian full size, Nigral; and Asian, Shinkanson.
Volunteers will also host a plant clinic, and there will be door prizes.
“We will also have baked goods, bluebird houses, rain barrels and assorted other homemade goods. Free seeds will include cucumbers, snap peas and chives. Master Gardener Volunteers will be on hand to answer any of your growing questions,” Master Gardener Amanda Beckett said.
The second Spring Garden Gala Day is plannedSaturday, April 11, and will feature squash and zucchini plants.
