Edward Rudolph “Eddie” Borklund Jr., a beloved member of the Perry, Florida community, passed away on March 19, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on September 1, 1955, in Perry, Florida, Eddie was a proud resident of Taylor County, where he lived life to the fullest.
Eddie was a man of many passions. He was a dedicated welder and pipefitter in the construction industry, but his true joys came from the great outdoors. A dedicated veteran, Eddie served 21 years in the U.S. Navy, an experience that shaped him and earned him the respect and admiration of many.
Eddie is preceded in death by his parents Rudy and Maryjane Borklund, and his brother Charles “Bohawg” Borklund.
Eddie is survived by his brothers Harold Lynn Williams and his wife Peggy, and Billy Borklund and his wife Norma, children Edward “Junior” Borklund III, and his wife Lora, his daughter Katie Cloninger and her husband Nick, his sister in law Christina Borklund, Jennie Barnes, step sons Terry Vann and Christopher Vann, and step daughter Bridget MIchael, as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends and relatives who will miss him dearly.
A Celebration of LIfe service will be held in the coming weeks, where family and friends will gather to honor Eddie’s memory and celebrate the life he led. Details regarding the ceremonies will be shared soon, and all who knew him are encouraged to join in remembering this remarkable man who touched so many lives.
