    Posted on April 8, 2026

The Taylor County Master Gardeners announces the return of its “Spring Garden Gala Days,” with the monthly event kicking off this Saturday, April 11, at Forest Capital Hall (203 Forest Park Drive).

The April Garden Gala Day will feature squash and zucchini plants grown by Master Gardener volunteers, including Early Prolific Straighneck squash, Early Summer Crookneck Squash, Waltham Butternut Squash, Spaghetti Squash, Black Beauty zucchini and Cocozelle zucchini.

Free sunflower and pumpkin seeds will be given away.

“We will have our popular plant clinic again, something cool for you to win in our prize drawing, as well as baked goods, bluebird houses, rain barrels and other assorted homemade goods,” organizers said. “Volunteers will be on hand to answer any of your growing questions.”

Local vendors are invited to set up at the event. Please contact the Taylor County Extension Office at 850-838-3508 for more information.

Proceeds from these events offset expenses, while also supporting Master Gardener Volunteers demonstration gardens and educational programs.
