Netflix’s ‘War Machine’ is essentially a remake of the original ‘Predator’

Sometimes while watching a movie, I get the feeling that it seems familiar, like I’ve seen another film similar to it. That’s what I started feeling once the action kicked off in the new Netflix picture, “War Machine.”

By the end of the movie, it was clear that I was basically watching an updated version of the original “Predator,” if you replace the human-hunting alien of that movie with a 30-foot-tall killer mech.

That’s not to say the film is terrible, but only that if you’re a fan of the original “Predator” movie, as well as 1980s action flicks in general, you could get a decent bit of enjoyment out of “War Machine.”

But, like many of the 1980s action movies of this type, don’t go in for the story or the character development. Go in for the solid action sequences, high body count and lots of blood.
