FHP: Driver swerves to miss slowed traffic, hits ambulance

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that the 21-year-old driver of this Honda sedan (right) swerved off of Hwy. 19 to avoid rear-ending vehicles that had slowed to yield to an ambulance. The driver, whose name was not released by FHP, then attempted to make a right turn onto S.R. 51 and crashed into the ambulance. The ambulance driver and his passenger both escaped injury.
Minor injuries were reported in a Sunday afternoon, May 3, crash at Tennille that involved a local ambulance and another vehicle that swerved into it.
